Toyota Corolla Overview

Redesigned for 2014, the Corolla gets a four-inch longer wheelbase, improved ride, and a quiet, spacious interior. A new constantly variable transmission replaces the old four-speed automatic on all but base models. Fuel economy remains excellent at 32 mpg overall with the CVT, and gets a significant boost to 43 mpg on the highway. Interior upgrades include standard Bluetooth connectivity and a touch-screen radio with simple controls. The updated interior combines nicely padded and stitched surfaces with drab, hard plastic bits. Handling is lackluster, but very secure. A sportier S version has a tauter suspension, and is more responsive than our tested LE.
