Gifts and grants play a critical role in achieving our mission. CR receives funding from a number of foundations and philanthropies to advance our work.

We are proud to have received top designations from Charity Navigator and Candid.

Courts frequently approve Consumer Reports as a cy pres recipient in class action lawsuits. We believe settlement funds should go to those directly affected. When that is not possible, CR leverages cy pres awards to advance consumer protections according to the nature of the lawsuit. Over decades, we have stewarded millions of dollars in cy pres awards – ranging from modest grants to seven-figure investments – to serve consumers’ interests.
