Ashita Kapoor is Director of Product Safety and Personal Care at Consumer Reports. She leads CR’s research and testing program focused on the safe operation and use of consumer products, and spearheads initiatives that apply contemporary data analytics to identify emerging and persistent trends in product safety across a wide variety of categories. While at CR she developed an early warning system to detect harms to consumers before they pose a widespread risk.

Prior to joining CR, Ashita worked at OXO and Hydroflask as a Global Compliance Manager of household tools and goods, where she specialized in safety and compliance. Previous positions with Zazzle, Starbucks, and Expresco focused on consumer product and food safety compliance and practices.

Ashita holds a Bachelor of Science in Food and Science Technology from McGill University. She also has certifications in Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy from MIT and Product Safety Leadership in Practice and Advanced Product Safety from St Louis University, Missouri.

Having worked in the consumer product industry for more than 15 years, I am extremely passionate about providing consumers with unbiased, evidence-based information, insights and customer advocacy to increase the safety of the products we use. It is my mission to serve as an educator and advisor for consumers and run in-depth investigations for product safety.
