Khalid El Khatib is a marketing and communications executive experienced in brand evolution, building awareness, and driving revenue growth from consumers, donors, and partners. As interim Chief Audience Officer, Khalid oversees brand marketing, enterprise communications, content, fundraising, and development. He is responsible for growing engagement and revenue through CRs journalism, products and services, social impact marketing, and audience growth initiatives.
Khalid brings 20 years of experience leading marketing and communications for mission-driven organizations and global brands. Most recently, he served as Chief Marketing Officer at Stack Overflow, where he led marketing and communications for the world’s largest online community of developers and technologists. Previously, he held senior roles within private and public companies like GLG, SJR, and Teach For America.
Khalid is also a writer whose work has appeared in Condé Nast Traveler, the MICHELIN Guide, PAPER Magazine, and other publications. He earned a B.A. in political science and creative writing from Washington University in St. Louis.
