    Frigidaire Gas and Electric Ranges Recalled for Electrical Shock Hazard

    Electrolux, the parent company of Frigidaire, has recalled about 1,800 gas and electric ranges sold under the Frigidaire name. The control panel on the back of the range can detach, posing an electrical shock or electrocution hazard, according to a press release from the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

    The recall applies to eleven different models, all of which have back-mounted controls and a control panel. Consumer Reports has not tested any of the models included in the recall.

    Details of the Range Recall

    The recall: About 1,800 Frigidaire ranges with back-mounted controls sold in the United States. Additionally, about 130 ranges were also sold in Canada. The recall includes select serial numbers for the following models: FCRE3052BW, FCRE305CBW, FCRG3051BB, FCRG3051BW, FCRE3062AB, FCRG3052BW, FCRE3052BB, FCRE3052BS, FCRE306CAS, FCRE3062AS, FCRG3051BS.

    The risk: The control panel can detach, posing a risk of electrical shock or electrocution.

    Incidents/injuries: Electrolux has not received any reports of injuries or incidents.

    Where and when sold: Lowe’s and other appliance stores nationwide and online from October 2023 through December 2023 for between $790 and $1,050.

    The remedy: You should immediately stop using the recalled range, unplug it, and contact Electrolux Group for a free repair which includes the professional installation of a new control panel. Consumers should not use the range while awaiting the service call and should leave it unplugged.
