The Ecovacs U2 Pro uses a random pattern to successfully clean floors. The vac's round shape was a disadvantage in coming close to edges and corners although it performed a bit better with edge cleaning than its sister model, the U2. This model is similar to the U2 but includes the "Pet Care Kit" that includes a larger dustbin and an all rubber brushroll. Most of the hair it picked up made it to the bin instead of on the brushroll which is a feat many robot vacs do not accomplish. The U2 Pro outperformed the U2 in pet hair pickup, most likely because of the included Pet Hair Kit that was not included with the U2. The vac easily traveled over cords even with some slack and climbed over a .75 inch threshold. The mopping function of this product was not tested. It traveled over a square of matte black carpet in the lab. Features: Cleaning Modes: Quiet, Standard, Max, Max+ suction. Auto, Edge, Spot modes.
