Overall the Neato D4 moved efficiently around the room and effectively cleaned and navigated the bare floors. Albeit slowly, it seemed to navigate smartly and smoothly around the room without bumping and jerking like some other vacuums. Its D-shape design allowed it to capture some debris in corners and edges (although the lack of side brushes affected its score). The lack of side brushes causes the robot to miss sand on the edges even when the robot navigates along the wall. A few positives of having no side brush is that it does not have to be removed in order to access the brushroll like some other models and it doesn't scatter debris. The vac left a slight film of hair on the carpet during the pet hair test and most of the hair ended up in the brushroll. The brushroll wasn't easy to remove or clean. It has a built in handle and a good-sized dirt bin capacity. Like other Neatos, it has track type wheels that suspend to allow it to maneuver from different floor types and thresholds. It was able to pass over power cords and avoid getting caught in rug tassels. It shimmies into its dock when its done. Features: Eco and turbo modes, spot cleaning, scheduling and extra care navigation mode. You can set No-Go lines on the floor in the app to prevent the vacuum from going in areas you don't want it to go. You can also see a map of the area cleaned. The app is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and IFTTT. App: Neato Robotics version 2.9.2 Battery: Li-ion (14.4V, 2100MAh, 31 Wh). Includes: power cord and docking station. Warranty is 1 year limited for hardware and 6 months for the battery.
