The round body of this Samsung Jet Bot+ robot wasn't a hindrance in edge testing as the robot got as close as possible to the edges and slowed down to allow the side brush to clean. With its grid-like pattern, it was able to navigate to most areas within the test lab, however, it did not always navigate over the black matte carpet in our lab. This vacuum was even powerful at sucking up embedded fine debris from test carpeting. Most of the pet hair that it picked up made its way to the dirt bin which is a feat many robot vacs cannot accomplish. Testers found that it was easy to clean the small amount of remaining pet hair that was left on the brush roll. The human hair test, however, was a little more challenging for the vacuum: It was able to pick up the human hair from the test carpets, but much of the hair was left on the brush roll and testers found that it was more difficult to remove the human hair from the brush roll. One stand out feature of this vacuuming system is the no-touch, self-emptying Clean Station base. Once the robot is docked, a vacuum in the docking station automatically empties the contents of the robot's dirt bin into an enclosed, disposable bag in the base. The downside of the system is that you have to purchase replacement bags. When the robot encountered electrical cords, it was able to pass over them with slight tugging, but no issues. With carpet tassels, it pushed the rugs around a little but backed away from the tassels without getting caught. It was able to recognize a full water bottle in its path and cleaned around it while only slightly moving it in the process. For threshold testing, it easily passed over our .75" test threshold.
