The Walmart exclusive Shark IQ RV1000 is similar to the RV1001AE but without the RV1001's self-cleaning base. The RV1000 is comparable to the 1001AE in performance with an edge in pet hair pickup. Although the RV1000 left some pet hair on the carpet, most of the hair it picked up made it to the bin instead of on the brushroll which is a feat many robot vacs could not accomplish. This vac uses a grid-like pattern and its suction is strong but its slow spinning side brushes are detrimental to its edge cleaning performance. An upside of the slow spinning brushes is that they didn't scatter debris in testing. The vac easily climbs over electrical cords even with slack in the cords and it also easily climbed over a .75 inch threshold. It has one of the larger dirt bins tested. One downside: The "self-cleaning" brushroll, albeit easy to clean, requires manual effort for cleaning. It traveled over a square of matte black carpet in the lab.
