Babysense Max View
In February 2026, a recall was initiated for the Babysense Max View Baby Monitor, model VBM55, manufactured by Hisense. The reported issue is that the parent display unit can overheat or spark when charging, which poses a fire hazard. The baby monitors were sold at Amazon.com, Walmart.com, and Babylist.com from January 2023 through December 2025. There have been 11 reported incidents with no injuries.
If you own this baby monitor, the Consumer Product Safety Commission states that you should stop using it immediately and contact Hisense for a free replacement display unit. The original unit should not be thrown into the trash because recalled lithium-ion batteries pose a higher risk of fire. Contact your local household hazardous waste collection center for details on how to dispose of the unit.
