If you own an Evenflo car seat or travel system, you may want to check your model name and number. More than 1,000 Evenflo car seats designed for the Canadian market were erroneously delivered to U.S. purchasers without the proper U.S. recall registration card. Twenty different car seat models have been recalled to remedy the missing registration card. Recalled models include the CR Recommended Evenflo Symphony and Evenflo Maestro Sport.

Although the recall is not due to a structural issue, it is still a safety concern. Without a recall registration card, owners are less likely to register their car seat with the manufacturer, which means they may miss important safety or recall information. To comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, all car seats purchased in the U.S. must have a U.S. recall registration card included with the product.

    MORE ON CAR SEATS

The recalled car seats are still safe to use for your little one, but it is important to register your car seat as soon as possible with the manufacturer so you don’t miss out on any safety updates.

“Filling out the registration form for your car seat allows the manufacturer to easily contact you in the case of a recall,” says Michael Bloch, child seat project leader at Consumer Reports.

Evenflo Company, Inc. will mail owners a U.S. recall registration card free of charge. You can also register your car seat now online or by calling Evenflo customer service at 800-233-5921, regardless of whether you bought it from another seller. Evenflo also includes resources on where to find the model number and date of manufacture needed for registration.

    Evenflo Car Seat Recall Details

More than 1,068 car seats and travel systems across 20 models have been recalled:

The problem: The car seats and travel systems were designed for sale in Canada but were shipped to U.S. purchasers in error. The models included in the recall do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 213 as they did not come with a U.S. recall registration card. View the full recall report with all model types.

The fix: Evenflo will mail owners a U.S. recall registration card free of charge. Owners can expect a notification letter mailed on or around April 1, 2025. Owners can also register their car seat at any time. The car seats are not being recalled due to a structural issue and can still be used safely.

How to contact the manufacturer: Owners may call Evenflo customer service at 800-233-5921. Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY 888-275-9171) or online.
