    About

    This Evenflo baby gate, made of wood with black mesh accents, is secure and easy to install—though testers said that the wall cups need to be screwed in, and screws aren’t provided with the gate. It’s not the easiest gate to use: Testers said the locking mechanism is hard to adjust and operate. The gate is 23 inches in height and can be extended across openings between 26 and 42 inches in width, making it fairly versatile. It’s not for use on uneven surfaces, though, and testers said they wouldn’t recommend using it at the top of a staircase.
