    Recall notice
On 12/20/16, CPSC and Aria Child, manufacturer of the GB Qbit, announced this recall due to laceration and fall hazards.  A gap in the stroller’s folding side hinge can pinch a caregiver’s hand during unfolding, posing a laceration hazard. In addition, the stroller can fold unexpectedly during use, posing an injury and fall hazard to the caregiver and child.

    Detailed Test Results

Very Good overall and in Ease of Use and Maneuverability. The Qbit is light and compact, and easy to maneuver except on rougher terrain. But the handle was uncomfortable, and some features were not the easiest to use. The lower Safety score of Good is due to the Qbit's relatively low score in CR's stability and braking test.

    About

The GB Qbit is part of the Strollers test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, Traditional and other strollers models like the Qbit are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Ease of use: Ease of use is based primarily on ease of using and adjusting the safety harness, folding and unfolding, adjusting the backrest, lifting and carrying, engaging wheel brakes and car seat removal and installation (only for compatible strollers).

Maneuverability: Maneuverability is assessed by trained testers, taking into account how well each stroller, with a weight bag "passenger," maneuvers on our course: in S-turns through cones, in narrow sections, on grass, dirt trails with tree roots and other debris, uphill, downhill and up and down curbs.

Safety: Safety is assessed by testing to the requirements of the federal stroller safety standard, 16 CFR Parts 1112 and 1227, which incorporates, by reference, the most current version of the ASTM stroller safety standard, ASTM F833-19. We also put strollers through Stability and Braking and other tests designed by CR.
