2019 Ram 1500 recall for power steering risks

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling 159,740 of its 2019 Ram 1500 pickup trucks because a faulty connection could lead to a loss of power steering.

The power steering system in a vehicle helps drivers make turns more easily by reducing the effort needed to rotate the steering wheel. If the system fails, it takes much greater effort to turn the wheel. FCA says the trucks wouldn’t lose their ability to steer, however.

FCA says it is not aware of any injuries or crashes related to the issue.
