Volvo Recall: A current-generation XC60

Volvo is recalling 43,000 of the 2018-2019 XC60 SUVs because the power liftgate can fail after being subjected to freezing temperatures.

The issue involves the lifting arm that opens the liftgate, which provides access the rear cargo area. Volvo tells Consumer Reports that if the lifting arm fails, drivers may hear an unusual noise, the liftgate may not function, or the lifting arm may separate from the liftgate when it is in use.

Volvo says there have been no reported injuries related to this issue in the U.S.
