Talking Cars 346: Driving the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer

Plus, we discuss a few financial challenges of driving an EV

We share our first impressions of the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and discuss why it took Stellantis, the multinational corporation that owns popular brands including Jeep, so long to jump into the premium three-row SUV market. Does the big Wagoneer have what it takes to compete with such heavyweights as the Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe, and Ford Expedition? The 392-hp, 5.7-liter V8 is supersmooth, but we’re anticipating that it will have a voracious appetite for fuel.

    Audience question
With owners of electric vehicles not paying typical gasoline taxes—like those who have internal combustion cars do whenever they fill up—will higher EV registration fees and possibly collecting taxes at public charging stations make up the shortfall?
