This version of Acura's flagship sedan failed to match the standards of its luxury car competition. Even worse, multiple lower-priced alternatives surpassed the RLX's look, feel and driving dynamics.
However, this is not to say the RLX is virtueless. The car has a very spacious and well finished interior with comfortable seats. The refined and powerful V6 powertrain also provides good fuel economy and performance.
On the other hand, the big Acura lacks the ride comfort and driving dynamics considered the key elements of a luxury sedan. Neither particularly luxurious, nor sporty, the Acura's lifeless electric steering makes matters worse. Most RLX models were equipped with front-wheel drive, although a more powerful all-wheel-drive hybrid model was an even pricier option.
Inside, the complicated radio controls could serve as an ergonomics lesson in what not to do.
