The Q5 is one of the better choices among luxury compact SUV. It is comfortable, agile, and very well finished inside. Fuel economy is respectable for the class. It packs a lot of high-tech features and a variety of standard advanced safety features.
The standard 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine is responsive. Note that it's available with two versions; a 201 horsepower or a more powerful 261 hp version of that engine. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission plays a supporting role. We measured the 0-60 mph acceleration in a scant 6.8 seconds when we originally tested it with its 248 hp engine. And, it managed a decent 24 mpg overall, but on premium fuel.
