The 2027 Audi Q9 and SQ9 are new, large three-row SUVs that give the German automaker a true competitor to luxury SUVs such as the BMW X7, Cadillac Escalade, and Mercedes-Benz GLS.
Power comes from twin-turbocharged engines: a 429-hp, 2.9-liter V6 in the Q9, and a 591-hp, 4.0-liter V8 in the performance-oriented SQ9.
Both models use an 8-speed automatic transmission and have standard all-wheel drive.
The exterior and interior styling are harmonious with the upcoming 2027 Q7 midsized SUV.
Inside is the familiar double-width driver's gauges and center infotainment screen, along with the standard third screen for the front-seat passenger.
Like the Q7, the Q9 has conventional controls for the mirrors, windows, and lights, and the elegant interior features wood trim and subtle chrome details.
The Q9 will feature adaptive headlights that continuously adjust the beam patterns to prevent blinding oncoming traffic, and all of the automatic doors can be operated by physical controls, the center touchscreen, or Audi's app.
An adaptive air suspension is standard, and all-wheel steering is optional.
The Q9 and SQ9 will be the first models with Audi’s partial automated driving system that lets driver take their hands off the wheel when traveling on certain highways.
The Q9 and SQ9 go on sale in late 2026.
