CR's Take
The new 7 Series has much better controls that its predecessor, including the revised iDrive system. The car is very quiet and has a steady ride, though it isn't as absorbent as a Mercedes S-Class or Lexus LS. Handling is commendable for this large car, but it still trails the S-Class despite the adjustable suspension settings. The 400-hp turbocharged V8 moves the car briskly. The cabin is very roomy and comfortable with excellent seats and an extremely roomy rear. Advanced safety features include a lane departure system that vibrates the steering wheel to warn the driver if the car crosses lanes.
