EV Charging

Won't charge at home; won't work with some public chargers; won't fully charge; charge connection; charge port door.

What Owners Say

Won't charge at home

"Episode where car would not charge on home charger. Would charge on DC fast charger. Taken to dealer and software updated. No further problems."

Anonymous, NM (2024 BMW i4 Electric)

""I returned the car to the dealer 6 times, as directed, because of high voltage issues after charging at Electrify America. My service writer advised me to start charging at home even though I had 7 more months of free charging available. So I did as advised. The first charging session at home worked perfectly. The second and third sessions began to demonstrate a problem charging. The fourth and following sessions the vehicle would NOT charge at home. After the dealership checked my charging system, I was told to have my electrician check my home charging system. He did a complete checke on my charging system. I took the results back to the dealer. The dealer replaced the charging block I plug into my home. I now have NO issues charging my car at home. System works now as advertised.""

In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

What Owners Say

Apple CarPlay

""We had a lot of problems pairing my wife's iphone. The system kept disconnecting my wife's phone. After a lot of internet-sleuthing, we figured out that the car's wifi (and related software updates?) were interfering with Apple CarPlay, so we had to select something in the options to de-activate the wifi updates. It's worth noting that I have an Android Phone and have had no issues connecting via Android Auto.""
