Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Owner Satisfaction with:

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

“Handles well, I like the anti-rollback feature on the manual transmission. Disappointed that this is the last model year available with a manual transmission.”

ALTHEA G., TN (2010 BMW X3)

“Acceleration, handling, and comfort”

RENATE J., SC (2010 BMW X3)

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

“Driver and front passenger seats require more foot room. Foot space is intruded upon in the middle of the car requiring you to sit on a bit of an angle pointed out.”

“I like everything about it.”

RENATE J., SC (2010 BMW X3)

“It has a heated steering wheel! Lots of cars have heated seats but how many have heated steering wheels? How awesome is that? I traded in my Highlander for warm hands and I got an awesome car to boot. The adjustable lumbar support is great for my arthritic back. Win win!”

BONNIE G., PA (2010 BMW X3)

“Slightly harsh ride”

Anonymous, ON (2010 BMW X3)

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

“Fun and sporty to drive for an SUV. Small enough that it is easy to park and maneuver. Great handling in adverse conditions. Nice to look at as well.”

Anonymous, SD (2010 BMW X3)

“It was relatively expensive to purchase (compared to a Toyota, Chev, Ford, etc) but is an excellent quality machine that drives and handles extremely well. I would not hesitate to purchase another X3.”

PAT W., AB (2010 BMW X3)

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

Percentage of owners who would definitely purchase that same vehicle again. Owner-satisfaction Ratings are determined by the percentage of those who answered "definitely yes" to the question asked by the Consumer Reports Annual Auto Survey "Considering all factors (price, performance, reliability, comfort, enjoyment, etc.), would you get this car if you had to do it all over again?". If we don’t have sufficient data, a similar model might be used to form the owner-satisfaction score.
