"At 3 years, we had a large snowfall that left snow sitting on the roof of the car. As the snow slowly melted over a period of many days, the seal around the sun roof leaked and a significant amount of water ended up soaking the headliner and pooling inside the car - water was even coming out of the centre ceiling console and the microphone openings in the headliner. I had the car repaired at a BMW dealer, including replacing the seal entirely. Approximately 1.5 years later, we had a significant amount of rain over a 2-day period. Once again, I found the headliner wet and water dripping onto the centre console and front seats. This second instance was not as bad as the first. Nonetheless, it begs the question - does every rainfall/snowfall result in leaks that I may or may not be aware of? The risk of mould, electrical damage, etc. exists and is a concern."

"Noticed that brakes did not seem to fully retract after use, emitting also a grinding noise. Upon complaint to dealer, it was determined that the brake boosting system had failed to act properly. Spare parts had to be procured from Germany which took about 2 to 3 weeks during which we got a loaner from the dealer. Why would crucial spare parts like this not be stored in the country the car is sold in?"

"10/23 cool initially on drivers side then hot air both sides. Still under warranty last fall but could not be tested after checking it by dealer since it was too cold. This year when driven to a warm climate A/C did not work. Fortunately note made by service writer kept the warranty in place. At the dealership now waiting for the part."

They attempted to fix it but told us that the fix could last for a few weeks or a year or two. If/when the leak reappears, we will need to purchase a new air conditioning unit."

"The vehicle has only approximately 43,000 and is five years old. It has been driven carefully and is well maintained. We just had to spend over $2,000 to replace the engine mounts. This should not be happening to a car that is only five years old and has 43,000 miles. We are getting rid of the car to avoid having to pay for any more major repairs."

"Car had been parked outside as garage was full. Rodents chewed wiring for remote key system. Remote key was not able to open/lock some doors. Wiring / harness had to be replaced at a cost of about $850. Why can't wiring be better protected from rodents??? I will have to find a solution to this as I have to keep the car outside for a couple more month and can't risk more damage."
