The LaCrosse is a sophisticated and thoroughly modern sedan. Quiet, roomy and luxurious, it offers responsive handling and a steady ride, qualities not normally associated with past Buicks. However, the cockpit is a bit narrow, the dashboard is busy, and styling restricts visibility and access. The 2.4-liter four-cylinder is mated to a light hybrid system.

"SES light was on. Installed new purge solenoid to correct issue."

    J H., MI (2015 Buick LaCrosse 3.6-L V6)

"Within a year of purchase, the check engine light illuminated. Under warranty, the tech reset the sensor and said that this was likely due to weather change. Within six months, it occurred again, and because of my excessive mileage, it ws no longer under warranty and I was told that the C02 sensor was bad and required replacement (my cost). 4-5 months later, same thing, and I was advised to get an injection cleaning (over $170). Two months later, and the check engine light is on more than it is off. The frustration of the cost is exacerbated by the time lost constantly taking the vehicle back to the service department."

    Paint/Trim

Paint (fading, chalking, cracking, or peeling), loose interior and exterior trim or moldings, rust.

    What Owners Say

    Loose interior trim or moldings

"This is related to the material that surround the circular up/down/left/right arrows on the right side of the steering column. After a few months of delivery, I noticed what appeared to be a slight bubble in th plastic. It was not large, so I didn't give it too much thought. In hindsight, given the 50,000 mile warranty and the 32,000 miles I drive per year, I should have taken it in right away. One day, I saw that the material had cracked, exposing an area of white plastic underneath. I have owned both expensive and inexpensive vehicles since the 1970's, and even the most inexpensive of my vehicles did not have these kinds of problems. The dealer advised me that at two years but at over 60,000 miles, my warranty had expired due to mileage, and they could repair it for around $190. Understanding that legally they are not bound to address the issue, but noting that mileage obviously has nothing to do with interior trim, I asked them if this might be an exception? It was not. In the end, I paid for a mid-level luxury vehicle that had interior trim being to deteriorate immediately."

Anonymous, VA (2015 Buick LaCrosse None 3.6-L V6)

    Jul 10, 2017
A failure of the front air bags or seat belt pretensioners to deploy in the event of a crash necessitating deployment increases the risk of injury to the driver and front passenger.
    Summary:
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Buick Lacrosse and Chevrolet Spark EV, Caprice PPV and SS vehicles, 2014-2017 Buick Encore and Chevrolet Corvette, Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles, 2015-2016 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Tahoe, Trax, Suburban and Silverado 2500 and 3500 and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles, and 2015-2017 GMC Sierra HD 2500 and 3500 vehicles. While being previously remedied for recall 16V-651, the affected vehicles may not have received the complete software update necessary to remedy the recall condition. Without the update, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test. During this test, deployment of the frontal air bags and the seat belt pretensioners would not occur in the event of a crash.
    What should you do:
GM will notify owners, and dealers will reflash the SDM software. Vehicles that have had a previous air bag deployment will have the SDM replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on August 4, 2017. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 17287.
