Cadillac ELR

EPA MPG: NA

CR's Take
The sleekly raked ELR is Cadillac's version of the Chevrolet Volt. Like the Volt, the ELR's plug-in electric/gasoline powertrain allows it to run on electricity alone for up to 37-miles before starting the 1.4-liter, four-cylinder gas engine. The interior is warm and luxurious, but cavelike with little visibility. And where the Volt's backseat is snug, the ELR's seems mainly for decoration. The CUE infotainment system's distractions and frustrations are in full effect. Advanced safety systems including forward-collision, blind-spot, and cross-traffic alerts, are available. For 2016, ELRs get more power, a tauter suspension, and a much-needed $10,000 price cut.
