    2025 Model Redesign Year
Based on the same modular electric platform as other GM EVs, the Optiq SUV is Cadillac's smallest, least expensive EV. The 300 hp all-wheel drive increased to 440 hp for 2026, and has an EPA-estimated range of 303 miles. A rear-wheel drive and performance V version are also added. In CR's 70-mph highway-range test, the Optiq AWD went 292 miles between charges. Home charging is quick, but DC fast charging is limited to 150 kW, which is slower than many competitors. The Optiq is quick and quiet, rides comfortably, and handles responsively.
The front seats are comfortable and supportive, but the rear seat will feel snug for adults and taller teenagers. A massive 33-inch display screen dominates the dashboard, but luckily, there are still physical buttons and toggles for most of the climate controls. It’s disappointing that Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are not compatible with the Optiq. The slim electronic exterior door handles are awkward to use.

    2025 Model Redesign Year
Based on GM's Ultium modular electric platform, the two-row Optiq SUV is positioned below the Lyriq in the automaker's expanding line of EVs. There is a single powertrain configuration, with 300 horsepower and all-wheel drive, and one battery pack at 85 kWh. The driving range is an EPA estimated 302 miles. The elegant interior houses a massive 33-inch wide display that encompasses instrument panel and infotainment system functions. Fortunately, there are still physical buttons for many common controls. Fitting with its high-tech image, the Optiq has a comprehensive suite of standard active safety and driver assistance features, including Super Cruise, an active driving assistance system that can handle acceleration, braking, and steering on pre-mapped divided highways, with a connected subscription after three years.
2026 brings a performance V version with 519 hp. Rear-wheel drive is added and the AWD version gains an extra 140 hp. A Tesla-style NACS charger is now standard.
