Based on GM's Ultium modular electric platform, the Optiq SUV is Cadillac's least expensive EV.
There is a single powertrain with 300 hp and all-wheel drive, and one battery pack at 85 kilowatt-hours.
It has an EPA-estimated driving range of 302 miles.
Home charging is relatively quick thanks in part to an 11.5 on-board charger.
The Optiq is quick and quiet.
It rides comfortably and handles responsively.
The dash houses a massive 33-inch display that encompasses instrument panel and infotainment system functions.
Fortunately, there are still physical buttons for many common controls, but alas, there is no Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, which could be a deal breaker for some.
Fitting with its high-tech image, the Optiq has a comprehensive suite of standard active safety and driving assistance features, including Super Cruise, which allows hands-free driving including auto lane changes on pre-mapped divided highways, with a subscription after three years.
