2018 Cadillac XT5 Owner Satisfaction - Consumer Reports
As the ATS, CTS, and CT6 all demonstrate, Cadillac can build brilliant-driving sedans. But the brand's SUVs lack the same magic. Built on a new platform, the Cadillac XT5 is a descendant of the SRX but it’s neither here nor there. Battling a field of worthy competitors, the XT5 isn't as rewarding to drive as a German compact luxury SUV, nor does it pamper you like a Lexus RX.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

What Owners Say

"At first I hated the auto stop but now I love it. It is a tiny moment of peace in a busy world, and it seems to be helping my gas mileage."

James B., LA (2018 Cadillac XT5)

"Great looks, acceleration and handling much improved over Cadillac SRX"

Anonymous, MN (2018 Cadillac XT5)

"Absolutely HATE the auto stop feature while driving in city traffic. This is dangerous and the hesitation has almost cost me to be in an accident. This feature should be able to be shut off if I do not want to use it. 2. I really dislike the new shifting system with the push on the side of the stick. Awful system. I will NOT buy or lease another Cadillac with these issues!"

Anonymous, NJ (2018 Cadillac XT5)

Gerard F., NJ (2018 Cadillac XT5)

"Great comfort, but road joints could be improved ."

Anonymous, CO (2018 Cadillac XT5)

"Very comfortable seating, quiet ride. what we expected in a Cadillac."

Ray W., SC (2018 Cadillac XT5)

"Seat comfort is great and it's extremely quiet. My last car was a Lexus ES 350 and was the most comfortable car (ride) I've ever had. The XT5 is not bad, but the ride is not as smooth."

J S., NY (2018 Cadillac XT5)

"Nice ride but there is a rattling noise coming from the rear someplace"

Anonymous, MI (2018 Cadillac XT5)

"I have own several Cadillacs. Chose the XT5 for seat comfort. However, the comfort level still needs a little work. The leather is good quality and has a nice feel but the seat is quite deep for someone with shorter legs causingg undue strain from knee to hip. Also, the lumbar doesn’t work well for a shorter person. Hits in the wrong part of the back. Because of this, my husband uses the lumber but I never do. Would be nice if it could adjust up and down a little better."

Anonymous, TX (2018 Cadillac XT5)

"very roomy interior"

Lisa M., NY (2018 Cadillac XT5)

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"The vehicle is a great vehicle for the money."

David A., MI (2018 Cadillac XT5)

"good value for price"

Anonymous, TX (2018 Cadillac XT5)

"Outstanding incentives that made the purchase over some competitors a no brainer. Value for the dollar was incredible."

Anonymous, AB (2018 Cadillac XT5)

"Got a very good trade in and discount from the dealer"

Anonymous, MS (2018 Cadillac XT5)

"The exterior design and quality is outstanding. Interior is superior to the SRX but could still be improved. CUE system is excellent. The fuel economy was improved almost 5 mpg from the SRX. Road noise could be improved. Overall I believe the XT5 is an excellent vehicle."

Richard R., FL (2018 Cadillac XT5)

"The XT5 Luxury version is less luxurious and has fewer luxury features than the SRX Performance version of 2013. Granted it has a few more gadgets and safety features but the seats are thinner, the interior lighting when entering or exiting is not as good and the dash and other portions of interior are not as well outfitted as previous"
