Acura MDX and TLX and Honda Pilot Recalled for Brake Problems
Drivers could inadvertently apply the brakes or not be able to slow the vehicle
American Honda is recalling more than 259,000 Acura and Honda sedans and SUVs because their brake pedals may move laterally, which could lead to a crash. The action involves the 2023-2025 Acura MDX, 2021-2025 Acura TLX, and 2023-2025 Honda Pilot.
Brake Pedal Recall Details
Vehicles Recalled
• 2023-2025 Acura MDX SUVs—67,448 models built between May 3, 2023, and Nov. 13, 2024
• 2021-2025 Acura TLX sedans—7,332 models built between Oct. 23, 2020, and Feb. 28, 2025
• 2023-2025 Honda Pilot SUVs—184,253 models built between Dec. 16, 2022, and Nov. 6, 2024
The problem: An improperly manufactured brake-pedal assembly may allow the pedal to slide side to side. That could prevent the driver from applying the brakes when they intend, or let the driver inadvertently apply the brakes.
The fix: Acura and Honda dealers will inspect the pedal assembly and install a new assembly if needed, at no cost to the owner.
How to contact the manufacturer: Owners may contact Honda’s customer service at 888-234-2138.
NHTSA campaign number: 25V391000. Honda’s numbers for this recall are FLX and XLY.
