Dodge Durango and Ram HD Pickup Trucks Recalled Because Stability Control May Malfunction

A software problem with antilock brakes may disable the ESC system

Chrysler (FCA US) is recalling certain 2022 Dodge Durango SUVs and Ram 2500 and 3500 heavy-duty pickup trucks because a software problem with the antilock brakes can disable the electronic stability control, a mandatory system that helps keep the vehicle in control when a slide is detected. Driving with a disabled electronic stability control system can increase the risk of a crash.

The problem: A software malfunction with the ABS control module may disable the electronic stability control system.

The fix: Dealerships will update the ABS control module software, free of charge.
