Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2021 to 2023 Ford Bronco SUVs because the front seats may have a loose or dislodged pivot bolt that’s used to adjust the seat frame height. If a bolt is not properly fastened, there is an increased risk of injury during a collision.

The automaker explains in documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the bolt may loosen over time. The driver and front passenger may notice a seat squeak, rattle, or feel loose, indicating the problem.

The recall encompasses 163,256 Broncos produced from Sept. 23, 2020, through Nov 30, 2022.

Owners will be notified in early December of the risk and recall. They will be contacted in the future when a remedy has been developed and dealerships are prepared to make the repairs.

Ford is not aware of any crashes or injuries related to this condition.
