Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs Recalled to Fix Brake Issues

An assembly error could cause the front brakes to stop working

Ford is recalling over 270,000 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator full-sized SUVs from the 2022 through 2024 model years because their front brake lines may leak and cause the front brakes to stop working. This could increase stopping distances and lead to a crash.

    MORE ON RECALLS

Before the front brakes fail, drivers may notice that the brake pedal moves further toward the floor, or that a red brake system warning light is lit up on the dashboard.

The problem is due to an error during the assembly process, which could have bent the front brake lines. To fix the issue, Ford and Lincoln dealerships will inspect and, if necessary, replace any improperly assembled parts.

According to documents provided to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Ford says it is unaware of any crashes or injuries related to this issue.

Last month, Ford recalled some older Expedition and Navigator SUVs for a different brake-related issue.
