Ford and Lincoln SUVs Recalled to Fix Windshield Wipers
A faulty wiper motor could cause the wipers to stop working, posing a safety hazard in wet weather
Ford is recalling more than 600,000 Ford Explorer, Ford Escape, Lincoln Aviator, and Lincoln Corsair SUVs from the 2020 through 2022 model years because their windshield wipers may stop working. If you own a vehicle that’s included in this recall, a dealership will fix the problem for free.
Ford and Lincoln Windshield Wiper Recall Details
Vehicles recalled: 2020-2022 Ford Escape, Ford Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, and Lincoln Corsair SUVs manufactured between July 6, 2020, and Dec. 15, 2021.
The problem: An issue during assembly could have misaligned an electrical connection, which could cause wiper motors to lose functionality over time.
The fix: Ford and Lincoln dealerships will inspect and, if necessary, replace the wiper motors.
