Park Recalled Kia Telluride SUVs Outside Until Fire Issue Is Fixed
A faulty power seat or improper recall repair means that these vehicles could catch fire while parked or driving
Kia is recalling more than 462,000 Telluride SUVs from the 2020 through 2024 model years for the second time because a faulty power seat switch could cause a fire. Owners are encouraged to park outside and away from structures until a free recall repair is complete.
Kia Telluride Fire Recall Details
Vehicles recalled: Kia Telluride SUVs manufactured between Jan. 9, 2019, and May 29, 2024
The problem: A newly discovered issue with the power seat switch and a potentially faulty recall repair could cause the switch to get stuck and overheat the power seat motor. If this happens, a fire could start under the seat.
The fix: Kia dealerships will install an electronic fuse assembly, free of charge.
How to contact the manufacturer: Owners may contact Kia at 1-800-333-4542.
NHTSA campaign number: 26V430. Kia’s own number for this recall is SC374. The original recall campaign was 24V07.
