Porsche is recalling some 2019 through 2025 Cayenne and Cayenne E-Hybrid SUVs, 2020 to 2025 911 sports cars and Taycan EVs, 2024 and 2025 Panamera sedans, and 2025 Panamera E-Hybrid sedans to fix faulty backup cameras that might not show an image when the car is in Reverse.

    MORE ON RECALLS

If the backup camera is not working, drivers may not be able to see what’s behind the car, which could lead to a crash. In addition, the vehicles are not compliant with federal motor vehicle safety standards.

Porsche dealerships will perform a software update to fix the issue, free of charge.

The problem: Although Porsche says it is not completely sure of the problem’s root cause, it may be due to signal noise that interrupts the backup camera’s image.

The fix: Porsche dealerships will update the vehicle software. The new software will be more resistant to signal noise and do a better job of recovering a lost signal if the camera feed is interrupted.

How to contact the manufacturer: Owners may contact Porsche at 800-767-7243.

NHTSA campaign number: 25V896. Porsche’s number for this recall is ASB2.
