Chevrolet Avalanche

"The wiring for the auto level system shorted out and would blow a fuse. Repair was easy for the shop I take to was able isolate and repair. No other problems. This the second Avalanche we have owned. This one has the LTZ package to much equipment but was the only one I could find with out more the 100K miles on it"

"Hoses started leaking at 65000 miles. Dealer quoted $900 to replace. Still drivable and I've ordered replacement hoses for $100. Will install myself."

"July 2013 Purchase August 2016 Noticed paint flaking along top of front windshield it was assumed at the time that as low as the probability of missing the windshield was that the metal above the windshield sustained a rock shot resulting in the paint chipping. Not much was thought of this at the time, I touched it up and left it at that. At this time it was also noted that apparent rubbing next to trim on both passenger and driver rear doors was causing paint removal and assumed to be normal wear. The defects were not reported to the dealer as I assumed the aforementioned were normal wear at the time. April 2017- 63537 Miles, took Avalanche to Moran Chevrolet for routine 6K Tire Rotation, following paint issue worsening, I registered complaint with Service at Moran about paint flaking over windshield and other areas of the vehicle, I explained it started small (thought it might be a remote chance of a stone chip in August of '16 so I ignored) only to get worse through winter and by this tire rotation. I explained I clearly take care of my vehicles and wanted to see if they would warrant the issue as clearly there is a failure in the paint process. He said he would discuss it with Wayne. Following service Scott Fleming informed that GM declines both warranty and Goodwill coverage for poor paint flaking per Wayne the service manager due to second owner scenario (This was a TAG vehicle owned by my Sister). After arriving home and conducting walk around of vehicle to inspect post winter and prior to trip to Jersey I noted the blistering (delamination) of paint in front of driver rear wheel well as well (this would insinuate inside out rusting and was a confirmed problem by two body shops I visited). Following a several month long volley with Chevrolet Executive Liaison exchanges and no resolve I have decided that after being a lifelong customer of GM and in spite of having many family members employed at many levels in the corporation that they have just cost themselves a lifelong customer due to their denial of responsibility for inferior paint quality and thus a 50K vehicle that from a paint prospective is the absolute worst I have owned in over 40 years of driving."

"Frame coating has been coming off for the last several years causing rust on frame."

"This vehicle has the enhanced paint package. I wash my truck regularity and store it in a climate controlled garage. I have had the paint sealed 3 times since the purchase. Yet, the paint on the lower third began to bubble and crack about 2 years ago. (Less than 5 years old and less than 100,000 miles) It now has significant rust damage. I looked into how it can be cosmetically repaired and was told no body shop would fix it for a reasonable price. "This is a common problem with 2013 Chevrolet's". Which I believe to be true. We also have a 2013 Silverado with rust worse than the Avalanche."

"CHML had water collecting in the housing and burned it out. It was replaced NC by selling new car dealer"

"The third brake light gets full of water/moisture. I have taken it to the dealer and they changed it 4 times, then said that it was normal. Water in electrical components are not normal, however it continues to work"
