The Colorado seemed promising when it replaced the S-10 in 2003. However, its unrefined five-cylinder engine, which it shares with its GMC Canyon twin, is anemic and doesn't offer a fuel-economy advantage over a V6. Notable shudder plagues the ride, the seats are uncomfortable and interior quality is lacking. However, handling is sound. Starting in 2009, the Colorado offered standard stability control.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

What Owners Say

"Durability of the engine"

"4cyl motor is a little under powered. Love the manual transmission."

JOHN W., NY (2007 Chevrolet Colorado)

"Runs smoothly. Comfortable seats. Could use more air conditioning vents."

Anonymous, CA (2007 Chevrolet Colorado)

"It has check engine light on and it shows power reduced. It goes very slowly sometime."

Anonymous, NJ (2007 Chevrolet Colorado)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Bench seats are functional and comfortable for short haul trips. Trips > 2 hours become uncomfortable due to firmness of the cushions."

Philip G., ND (2007 Chevrolet Colorado)

"The seats fit my body extremely well. The vehicle is very easy to drive. The one item that is not good is the turning radius."

Lester M., AB (2007 Chevrolet Colorado)

"The Colorada is a pickup truck, so I don't expect it to excel in comfort, noise level and ride. However for a pickup, I would say it drives very well, and rides acceptably well. Noise lever not excessive."

Thomas W., NC (2007 Chevrolet Colorado)

"We can drive this truck comfortably for 12 hours and exit the truck without any stiffness or pain. The ride is very smooth. The interior noise level is noticeable, but tolerable."

Anonymous, MI (2007 Chevrolet Colorado)

Value

What Owners Say

"The truck has been very reliable and dependable. It has very comfortable seats."

LESTER M., AB (2007 Chevrolet Colorado)

"Seals around windows and lights deteriorate and leak. Latch to tailgate had to be repaired. When new there was so many problems with the a/c that they replaced the whole system."

ROY A., FL (2007 Chevrolet Colorado)
