"It started about 8 months ago. My husband was commuting to work and had to pull over because there was smoke coming out of the sides of the hood. He had to have it towed to a shop and they replaced the water pump. Most recently this last week the truck overheated while I was driving on the freeway. When I opened the hood there was steam shooting out of the tee connector and the battery is dead. It is currently in the shop."

"As yet unresolved: every so often the ECU throws error code P0128 saying that the coolant temperature is below what it should be. This disables, among other things, the A/C, presumably because they wanted to disable non-essential items affecting coolant temperature in either direction. I have an OBD-II transponder permanently plugged in so that when this happens, I fire up the app and clear the fault from the ECU and everything returns to normal."

"The problem is random. I know of at least 5 other trucks that have the same problem. Several different years from 2017-2019. GM does not recognize it as a problem. It's ironic that all these trucks have a similar problem. Whether its a Colorado or Canyon. It makes me question whether to buy something else."
