Chevrolet Silverado EV

Latest Model

2024 Model Redesign Year
The Silverado EV pickup truck, and its twin, the GMC Sierra EV, are built on GM's EV-specific Ultium platform, sharing a lot in common with the GMC Hummer EV and Cadillac Escalade IQ. The 2024 RST model we tested is quick and quiet (other than excessive wind noise). The air suspension keeps things steady and pretty comfortable for a pickup, but the large, 24-inch tires transmit some harshness into the cabin. The truck's four-wheel steering system makes parking easier. However, abnormally long stopping distances and the lack of Android Auto or Apple CarPlay are big demerits. The large 205-kWh battery provides a GM-estimated driving range of up to 460 miles, but we saw 472 miles in our 70-mph highway range test of the 2024 RST model.
Home-charging is relatively quick, at about 30 miles of range gained per hour. A neat feature is a partition that opens a pass-through between the cab and bed, similar to Chevy's Avalanche from the early 2000s. The RST trim comes with a towing-compatible version of the Super Cruise hands-free active driving assistance technology. For 2026, the RST trim was dropped, and an off-road-inspired Trail Boss trim was added.
