Looking at the Chrysler 300's basic spec sheet suggests an old-school highway cruiser: rear-wheel drive, available V8 power, and sizeable dimensions. But there's much more to the story. This version of Chrysler's flagship is a capable, sophisticated, and luxuriously large automobile. Brawny and muscular, the sedan packs plenty of punch in both V6 and V8 forms.

Reliability indicates how models have performed in the past, providing the basis for predicting how the vehicles will hold up in the year ahead. These charts provide the most comprehensive reliability information available to consumers. Based on information received from our latest subscriber survey for about 329,000 vehicles, our reliability history charts give you a rundown on how 2000 through 2020 vehicles are holding up in 17 potential trouble spots, ranging from the engine, transmission, and brakes to power equipment and the electrical system. NA indicates that we did not receive a large enough sample size to provide data for a specific year. An X indicates that the vehicle was not manufactured for a specific year.

Owner Reported Trouble Spots

The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2015 Chrysler 300 owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.

"Light is on, need to get them checked"

Maisa K., NV (2015 Chrysler 300 S 3.6-L V6)

"They seem to pulse when you are coming to a stop. They also seem to lock up or anti-skid starts to early but it could be the tires that come standard with it... not very good"

"3 of 4 wheel sensors failed"

Edward W., FL (2015 Chrysler 300 C 3.6-L V6)

They wanted $450+ to look it over and then more money "try to repair" the damge. Their solution was to remove the muffler and exhaust system and redo. We took it to a muffler shop and he welded it together for $40. Dealerships are a rip-off"

W B., GA (2015 Chrysler 300 C 3.6-L V6)
Muffler

"This is connected to the exhaust system problem. See that explaination"

W B., GA (2015 Chrysler 300 C 3.6-L V6)

Sunroof

"Sunroof EXPLODED upward leaving shattered tempered glass caught by the shade that was vacuumed out by the 1st dealer in CA. The 2nd dealer in OR & the 3rd dealer in WA ALL said the same thing, We've never seen anything like this! Chrysler said it was not their fault, so I guess it was my fault for buying the car! $2600.00 total cost to repair, THREE weeks to get the pasts!!! I am DISGUSTED WITH THIS COMPANY!!! I want to let anyone that is thinking of buying this model one simple fact - DO NOT DO IT!!!!!!"

Willard R., CA (2015 Chrysler 300 C 3.6-L V6)
Tailgate, hatch or trunk

"The trunk will absolutely not stay shut. And then you will start just try and slam it over and over and over but it will not stay shut. And search you do that you have no messed up the rear camera. And that camera Will cost you over $500 to have fixed the only way you can make the trunk stay shut you have to pull the fuse for all the water latches and trunks. So that means you cannot secure your car or you cannot open your gas tank or trunk. The problem lies at the trunk release button on the dash not on the trunk lid at least it did in my case thank God I am a mechanic and could track down the problem replacing it is like everything else expensive and time-consuming."

In an effort to mitigate the effects of this security vulnerability, Chrysler has had the wireless service provider close the open cellular connection to the vehicle that provided unauthorized access to the vehicle network.
