Chrysler Sebring

Responsive handling is the main attraction of this sporty coupe and its cousin, the Dodge Avenger. Both are long in the tooth; a redesign is due this fall. The lone engine is a 2.5-liter, 163-hp Mitsubishi V6; the noisy Chrysler 2.0-liter, 140-hp Four has been dropped. The chassis soaks up large bumps well, but small pavement flaws transmit firm kicks. The front seats provide good support; the rear is tight for three adults. Some minor controls are poorly placed, but the gauges are clear. A large trunk is another high point. This is the last year for the current Avenger/Sebring pair.
