Chrysler might have invented the modern minivan, but time marched on, leaving this version of the Town & Country feeling dated and past its prime. It’s not that the Town & Country totally lacks good points. Ride is very comfortable and settled. Passengers will also find a quiet, well-equipped cabin that offers considerable versatility.

What Owners Say

External music device interface (e.g., smart phone, MP3 player)

"Uconnect automatically connects with iphone but I cannot use the maps program unless I turn off blue tooth in the car. I have tried to update the software, which I am told is the issue, but it has not provided a fix. Just a poorly designed system. I have no problems with using my iphone and navigation and keeping other phone functions when I rent a vehicle when I travel. Clearly a software issues with this maker."

Anonymous, TN (2015 Chrysler Town & Country 3.6-L V6)

Robert B., NY (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Touring 3.6-L V6)

Anonymous, OH (2015 Chrysler Town & Country 3.6-L V6)

"GPS gives me incorrect info. Tells me to turn the wrong way. It sent me to places that were houses instead of a restaurant. I bought new car and had a 2 year old system installed. Finally after several times to FL dealership I got a new GPS installed and still not happy with performance."

Anonymous, MI (2015 Chrysler Town & Country 3.6-L V6)

"The display for the navigation system has frozen at the Garmin information screen. The dealer says that it is a Garmin problem. I can't download any updates since the screen is frozen! Very frustrating!"

Rex B., UT (2015 Chrysler Town & Country 3.6-L V6)

"GPS does not always bring up the option to choose a destination and therefore plan a route"

Dave M., IL (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Touring 3.6-L V6)

Anonymous, FL (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Touring 3.6-L V6)

"uconnect 430N gps system stopped working. I looked at the their website. instructions are confusing. I tried the onlinechat. They said they'd have a technician call. none did. I've called my dealer they said they would have a technican call. They haven't. I'm ready to do without"

Anonymous, WI (2015 Chrysler Town & Country 3.6-L V6)

"Over the past 4 years, I've had problems with the system working and then for some unknown reason, it wouldn't respond. At times, the assistance from the GPS was critically needed. I checked with many Chrysler dealers and they either said they didn't know anything about GPS systems or when they looked the car over, they couldn't come up with any reason for the erratic behavior. I now always keep my cell phone with me just in case the system acts up."

Anonymous, AR (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Unsure 3.6-L V6)

"Inability to update the GPS software and mapping system. I have purchased the update for the GPS system but I and the dealer were not able to get it to work. The GPS system works but the mapping and software are out of date."

"Had back to dealer for analysis and correction, 2x. First time said they needed more time and to return. Returned 5 mos later and was told that "the vehicle is performing as designed" in the interests of blood pressure control refrained making a scene. Farrell L., IL (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Touring 3.6-L V6)

"Have taken van in several times to dealer for several front end noises. Either they could not hear noises or did not know what it was. Tired of getting run-around and quit going. There is definitely something causing these noises; not having trouble with brakes usual cause of one noise. Considering taking van to regular mechanic, leaving it for a day (which I have done with dealer), letting him drive it and seeing if he can identify noises. Have had these noises since I purchased van."

Anonymous, OH (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Touring 3.6-L V6)
Wind noise

"The molding around the exterior of the front windshield was not seated properly. It did not leak, but it would squeak/chirp very loudly at speeds higher than 65mph. The dealer was able to fix it under warranty by replacing the molding."

Humphrey R., TX (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Limited 3.6-L V6)

"When driving at highway speed with any kind of cross wind, there is a loud, intermittent high pitch noise coming from either the top of the windshield trim or the front of the luggage rack"

Anonymous, MA (2015 Chrysler Town & Country 3.6-L V6)

Rebekah R., TX (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Limited 3.6-L V6)

"Rear condenser leaked required replacement and system recharge summer 2019. I consider this an unnecessary expense for any vehicle built today."

Paint/Trim

Paint (fading, chalking, cracking, or peeling), loose interior and exterior trim or moldings, rust.

What Owners Say

Loose exterior trim or moldings

"Trim along the driver and passenger B-pillar extremely fragile. Replaced passenger side twice throughout year."

William S., MO (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Touring 3.6-L V6)

"I would sometimes hear a clacking/tapping sound when driving that seemed to come from the front passenger door. Ultimately while driving the sound got much louder and when I stopped to inspect the car, I found a plastic trim piece just rearward of the front passenger. The trim piece was missing a clip that must have broken when we were driving in windy conditions . I ordered a replacement online and installed it myself"

Anonymous, WI (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Touring 3.6-L V6)

"There is exterior black plastic trim on the doors between the windows. It has fallen off of both the driver's and passenger's doors. I suspect bad adhesive."

Electric System

Alternator, starter, hybrid battery and related systems, regular battery, battery cables, engine harness, coil, ignition switch, electronic ignition, distributor or rotor failure, spark plugs and wires failure.

What Owners Say

Body control module

"My wipers would come on randomly and dash lights would show low tire pressure, etc. I was told it was the control module. It was replaced at no cost and I've not had a problem since."

Peggy E., IL (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Touring 3.6-L V6)
Cruise control

"It does not maintain the set speed, even on minor hills. For example I set the speed at 70 MPH, cruise down the road and encounter a small hill. The speed drops to about 67 MPH, then the engine RPM increases or it downshifts, and the speed increases, to about 73 MPH. It eventually goes back to 70 MPH. I have complained to two dealerships, Chrysler itself, and finally I wrote up a complaint to the NHTSA. This is very unsafe and can cause the vehicle to either go too slow so others behind you get too close, or it goes too fast causing it to get too close to the vehicles in front of it. I taught automotive for a living, till I retired and I have owned many vehicles over the years. This is, by far, the worst cruise control I have ever used. Even my 1985 Pontiac Sunbird did abetter job."

Greg D., MI (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Touring 3.6-L V6)
Exterior lights (other than headlights)

"Driver side turn signal both lights went out. Also fuse issue with power seats"

Anonymous, NY (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Touring 3.6-L V6)

"HID headlights. Bad ballast module. It kept burning out the HID bulbs, lasted less than a year. Now fixed but won't know if that fixed the problem for another year. Covered under warranty"

Anonymous, IA (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Limited 3.6-L V6)

"Driver's side headlight that goes on automatically when it gets dark stopped working. Dealer replaced lamp at no charge under factory warranty"

Delores S., CA (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Limited 3.6-L V6)
Keyless entry

"sometimes the keyless entry button on the key needs multiple pushes to open the doors to the car"

Anonymous, LA (2015 Chrysler Town & Country 3.6-L V6)

James S., FL (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Limited 3.6-L V6)

"At times, the drivers side rear door will fail to latch closed properly. The soft close mechanism tries to repeatedly seal the door but fails. At this point it is easier to manual open the door slightly and then close it hard."

Anonymous, WI (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Touring 3.6-L V6)
Seat controls - manual

"Rear passenger seat would fold/collapse for stow and go"

Anonymous, IA (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Limited 3.6-L V6)

What Owners Say

Torque converter

"Just before my drive train warranty expired my check engine light came on and would not go away. We had the code checked and was told it was a transmission issue."

Anonymous, MD (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Limited 3.6-L V6)
Transmission rebuild or replacement

"CAR was driving fine but check engine light was coming on, Codes indicated a bad solenoid. Tried having it serviced with new filter and fluids. A check thenext week had metal shavings in the fluids. Transmission needed rebuilt. Had it rebuilt (one week ago) and so far it is still doing well. It never did have any hesitation or pause in shifting. So from a warning system standpoint, it worked properly and allowed getting the problem fixed before the car quit working."

Rebekah R., TX (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Limited 3.6-L V6)

"Complete transmission rebuild in less than 48k miles. The t&c is basically a piece of crap. I'll never buy a Chrysler product again. The preponderance of online reviews re Chrysler products reliability and service are heavily negative, and my experience has mirrored those reviews. Never again! The Mr. Toad syndrome, when I saw the bright shiny object on the showroom floor, got the better of me. I did not exercise due diligence by researching Chrysler."

Charles W., NV (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Touring 3.6-L V6)

"Transmission failed completely while driving. Dealer replaced it with a new one."

Anonymous, AL (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Limited 3.6-L V6)

Anonymous, MD (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Unsure 3.6-L V6)

What Owners Say

CV joint

"I took the care in for a wheel balance and the company found that the cv joint seal was broken. They replace the cv joint. A year later at a different service place I was having the wheels balanced and found that the cvjoint was again torn. Neither of these visits were at the Dealer where I purchased the car. The first one showed me that something off of the highway had punctured the boot."

Anonymous, FL (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Unsure 3.6-L V6)
Differential

"This started acting up while we were on a vacation. The car would act strangely like shaking while idling. Apparently this was all covered by warranty. The dealer replaced all parts at warranty expense of the Chrysler 100,000 mile warranty that came with the car even though I was 2nd owner."

Trish H., WA (2015 Chrysler Town & Country Touring 3.6-L V6)
Driveline vibration

"The car was at 92,100 miles and started vibrating and chugging at stop lights. We took it to the dealer in Yuma since we were on vacation. They said it was covered under the 100,000 mile warranty because it was under 5 years old. The dealer covered all costs including leasing us a car for 5 days. The dealer fixed everything at no cost to us."

If the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury in the event of a fire.
Summary:
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling various Dodge, Chrysler, and RAM vehicles equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V824-0103.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf
