Introduction
Responsive handling is the main attraction of this sporty coupe and its cousin, the Chrysler Sebring. Both are based on the previous-generation Mitsubishi Galant, which was hardly a standout when new. The 2.5-liter, 163-hp Mitsubishi V6 is now the only available engine. The chassis soaks up large bumps well, but small pavement flaws transmit firm kicks. The front seats provide good support; the rear is tight and access is difficult. The trunk is large. This is the last year for the current Avenger/Sebring pair.
