2012 Dodge Durango Owner Satisfaction - Consumer Reports
This version of Durango is a wholly different animal from the body-on-frame truck derivative it replaced. Now it's based on the redesigned Jeep Grand Cherokee, a descendant of the Mercedes-Benz ML-Class. This Durango rides well and the spacious cabin is comfortable, quiet, and well appointed. Occupying the large end of the mid-sized SUV spectrum, the Durango has a third-row seat that's actually usable.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

"The RT handles very well on curvy mountainous roads. I usually get car sick on those roads but the suspension in this vehicle is great for limiting movement that usually makes me sick."

"Not going to win and drag races, but the 5.7L offers a more than suitable level of power to safely operate on three D.C. Beltway."

PETER L., MD (2012 Dodge Durango)

"The 2012 Durango is a nimble, agile SUV that drives like a vehicle half its size. It corners well and is deceptively maneuverable in tight spaces like parking lots. It really is a fun vehicle to drive."

KARL B., GA (2012 Dodge Durango)

"We are quite happy overall. But the acceleration under load (e.g. Uphill or highway passing) is lacking. This is probably related to our 5 speed transmission."
