2013 Dodge Durango Owner Satisfaction - Consumer Reports
This version of Durango is a wholly different animal from the body-on-frame truck derivative it replaced. Now it's based on the redesigned Jeep Grand Cherokee, a descendant of the Mercedes-Benz ML-Class. This Durango rides well and the spacious cabin is comfortable, quiet, and well appointed. Occupying the large end of the mid-sized SUV spectrum, the Durango has a third-row seat that's actually usable.

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Driving Experience

What Owners Say

"Nice driving car. Solid feel with good acceleration and sure handling."

Anonymous, OH (2013 Dodge Durango)

"VERY EASY TO DRIVE AND VISABILITY IS EXCELLENT AND THE V-6 ENGINE HAS ENOUGH RESPONSE FOR THIS VEHICLE. I'M VERY PLEASED WITH THE GAS MILEAGE. JUST RETURNED FROM A 1500 MILE TRIP AND OVERALL MILEAGE (CITY AND HIGHWAY) WAS EXACTLY 30 MPG. I DRIVE AROUND 60-65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. I USED THE ONBOARD COMPUTER PLUS MY OWN CALCULATIONS WHICH AGREED"

Anonymous, TN (2013 Dodge Durango)

"Excellent acceleration."

Anonymous, NY (2013 Dodge Durango)

"The drive is great also the SUV handles great if your in town or on the open road meaning the freeway"

Gary D., CA (2013 Dodge Durango)

"Handles and turns will car."

Ron H., CO (2013 Dodge Durango)

"Has great pick up. Have to watch our speed as you do not realize how fast you are going. I can make a U-Turn with the trailer on the back with no problem"

Anonymous, IL (2013 Dodge Durango)

"Very powerful, good acceleration even when I have 6 adults and luggage on board. Cruise control holds speed even on steepest grades. Also tows a 3500 lb. boat with ease."

Anonymous, TX (2013 Dodge Durango)

"I have the R/T with the 5.9 Hemi. Love it. Modified exhaust to give it a better sound. For a vehicle that weighs over 7,000lbs it has excellent acceleration. Handles great for the type of vehicle."

Jacob S., FL (2013 Dodge Durango)

"Excellent acceleration and handling despite being such a large vehicle with a six cylinder engine."

Frank C., DE (2013 Dodge Durango)

"I have the standard engine(3.6L) for my model year. It provides more than enough power for the way I drive. Recently i test drive a new 2018 Durango with a Hemi engine. There was a difference but not enough to warrant spending the extra money to increase performance and lower gas mileage!"

Anonymous, PA (2013 Dodge Durango)

"Very powerful. Pulls 5000 lb trailer without problem even up mountains. Tends to lurch forward when accelerating out of a curve. Engine runs cool. But, very pleased."

Anonymous, TX (2013 Dodge Durango)

"Transmission needs more gears, as in the newer models."

KENNETH N., CA (2013 Dodge Durango)

"price, performance, over-all looks"

ANDREW B., FL (2013 Dodge Durango)

"The transmission is a disaster. It had to be rebuilt once (under warranty), but it still has problems. The engine will not do "compression braking" going downhill. You have to continually ride the brakes going downhill in the mountains."

PAUL A., FL (2013 Dodge Durango)

"Acceleration is hesitant when starting and passing in the 6 cyl model"

Anonymous, IL (2013 Dodge Durango)

"It's a 6 c and gets good milage but not the power of my last 8c Durango"

"value"

Andrew B., FL (2013 Dodge Durango)

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"When I was looking at vehicles, I was actually looking at crossovers but for value compared to size, the Durango was a better price value than the crossovers. I looked at other manufacturers and for a large crossover, the price was nearly $10,000 more than the Durango."

KATHLEEN B., IL (2013 Dodge Durango)

"The amount of room inside was phenomenal for the price."

Anonymous, NY (2013 Dodge Durango)

"We bought the Durango used and received a very good vehicle for the amount we paid."

THOMAS F., WI (2013 Dodge Durango)

"I love the vehicle but it has some problems. Too expensive and the first Winter I had it the tires (factory) were almost bald and I had a very dangerous ride in a snow storm. We had to replace the tires at 20,000 miles. I would not expect that and should have been told about it when we bought it. It also has an electrical problem where it will indicate "the key has left the vehicle" and won't start. Discovered that if we let it sit awhile and try again it will start."

BARBARA C., NY (2013 Dodge Durango)

"Well worth the money paid. Excellent driving experience."

Anonymous, AZ (2013 Dodge Durango)

"For as larfpge as it is gets great highway gas mileage. It has a 25 gal fuel tank which is great for long trips and fewer gas stops. Ride is very automobile like, very quiet inside. A/C works great keeping interior "cold" even in Florida summers."

DONALD M., FL (2013 Dodge Durango)

"Luxury features and performance."

Anonymous, CA (2013 Dodge Durango)

"have had no problems"

Andrew B., FL (2013 Dodge Durango)

Styling
