The three-row Durango SUV is another impressive example of Chrysler's recent resurgence. While past Durangos were rather mediocre, the current one is a luxurious, refined, and capable SUV that is competitive with others in its category. The Durango, which shares the same platform as the Jeep Grand Cherokee, does an impressive job of combining workhorse utility with ample creature comforts.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"Outstanding vehicle! This is my 4th Durango since first year of production. I special ordered this Citadel, but got the 6-cylinder engine. Occasionally, I wish I had another hemi, but am VERY happy with the 3.6 liter! Handling for a SUV is outstanding; Beats sound system=excellent;safety features (auto cruise control {ACC}; lane change warning & back up camera/display=excellent. Frankly, I have yet to find or experience any problems in the first 9000 miles of HARD driving. Keep up the great work..."

Daniel B., GA (2016 Dodge Durango)

"handles very good"

Anonymous, IA (2016 Dodge Durango)

"The Hemi engine provides more than adequate power for this grocery getter."

Michael B., MN (2016 Dodge Durango)

Anonymous, CO (2016 Dodge Durango)

"Acceleration a bit jerky, have to go easy on gas pedal. Comfortable highway ride."

Anonymous, MD (2016 Dodge Durango)

"It seems to have a lot of get up and go for such a big vehicle (of course I previously was driving a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan). When parking it helps that it has a rear view camera and sensors as it is hard to see what’s behind you. It has a sport mode when you need even more get up and go."

Anonymous, WI (2016 Dodge Durango)

"Acceleration is great. And it has a real nice growl to the engine."

Anonymous, FL (2016 Dodge Durango)

"The engine shutters when going from 4 to 8 cylinders. I must turn off the ECO MODE button to override the engine from doing this."

Anonymous, NY (2016 Dodge Durango)

"Performs very well. Great acceleration and handling."

Mark S., KY (2016 Dodge Durango)

"Lots of power for towing and it remains very stable. The ride is firm but not punishing. The drive modes makes a difference. The driver seats are a bit firm and seems to be slanted. The other seats seem fine and very comfortable."

Anonymous, AZ (2016 Dodge Durango)

"Right from the beginning, we noticed an inappropriate downshift while driving. Sometimes after the car was turned off, there was an odd noise. After 500 miles and 5 weeks of owning the car it was totally DEAD in our garage. Eventually, after 2 dealership visits, something was done with programming the computer that runs the transmission. I don't believe we have noticed the problem since but we do not drive this car much, just to pick up the grandkids from school and go to appointments"

ELLEN P., AZ (2016 Dodge Durango)

"The V-8 gives good acceleration with six passengers and the ride and handling are very good."

KENNETH M., GA (2016 Dodge Durango)

Anonymous, WI (2016 Dodge Durango)

"The car has a some what harsh and bumpy ride on rough roads, sounds like something is loose in rear of car. I have had it in to the dealer and they can't find anything. Also the finish of car is poor. The doors do not align correctly and the techs at dealer either do not know how to correct or don't care..."

John T., TX (2016 Dodge Durango)

"Seats, more comfortable than the 2016 Toyota Highlander, more Interior room for the driver. Climate control better than I thought, some what of a puzzle at first using the screen. Noise level about the same as the Highlander. Rides better than the Highlander."

MICHAEL S., MS (2016 Dodge Durango)

"Cabin noise is a bare minimum. Can talk easy with people in third row. Third row seats are comfortable for two adults. Ride can actually be described as comfortable on US Forest Service roads with washboard."

CURTIS M., OR (2016 Dodge Durango)

"Great value for a fully loaded 7 passenger SUV, it is has heated and ventilated front row seats as well as heated rear seats. Seats are comfortable with a great lumbar adjustment that moves up and down to get it positioned just right in your back."

JON K., IN (2016 Dodge Durango)

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"I compared this care with the Chevy and Toyota alternatives - this was priced at half the cost."

Anonymous, OR (2016 Dodge Durango)

"When comparing the 2016 Dodge Durango with my other choice at the time (the Toyota Highlander). The Durango felt like a more roubust vehicle and the third row seat is actually usable for 2 adults where the Highlander was not. The cost was similar, but the value was higher for my needs in the Durango."

Anonymous, MS (2016 Dodge Durango)
