2018 Dodge Durango Owner Satisfaction - Consumer Reports
The three-row Durango SUV is another impressive example of Chrysler's recent resurgence. While past Durangos were rather mediocre, the current one is a luxurious, refined, and capable SUV that now rates at the top of its category. The Durango, which shares the same platform as the Jeep Grand Cherokee, does an impressive job of combining workhorse utility with ample creature comforts.

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"SRT performance is breathtaking, Braking and steering is awesome!"

Robert B., FL (2018 Dodge Durango)

"Impressed with the responsiveness and handling of the V-6. Even with the smaller engine it seems that there is plenty enough power to feel comfortable on the freeway passing other cars and getting up hills. The handling, suspension and general ride feel are also very impressive for an SUV of its size."

Cameron S., WA (2018 Dodge Durango)

"Very powerful and responsive"

Joseph F., CO (2018 Dodge Durango)

"Very comfortable driving experience - quiet, responsive."

Anonymous, PA (2018 Dodge Durango)

"Great muscle car, sport mode driving. Navigation system not efficient, must use google maps or IPhone to supplement. Noise and air leak from the back doors. Side mirror dimming works sometimes"

Alphonse S., ON (2018 Dodge Durango)

"Surprisingly quick and nimble for an SUV"

John T., FL (2018 Dodge Durango)

"The new system automatically shuts the engine off at stop signs and lights. I have not figured out how to opt out of that as it's very frustrating. My only complaint."

John H., IN (2018 Dodge Durango)

"The look"

Lamont A., CA (2018 Dodge Durango)

"My 2018 Citadel drives, handles and looks like a vehicle costing much more. The power is always ready and waiting for your command and the transmission is flawless quiet possibly the best shifting transmission on the market. The 8.4 navigation screen is amazingly fast easy to use with fantastic graphic's. As big as Durango is it handles like a much smaller vehicle in the city yet offers the ride of a much bigger SUV on the highway without having the fuel mileage issues found on larger SUV's. My Vice White Paint job is flawless, interior fit and finish is excellent. (Well Done Chrysler Corp) I finally felt comfortable buying American again after a 15 year absence."

William H., FL (2018 Dodge Durango)

"The 5.7 R/T engine has "get up and go" with plenty of power to spare when needed. Given the "beefy" look of the Durango it handles exceptionally well."

Anonymous, MN (2018 Dodge Durango)

"The hemi 5.7 engine has the power to move when and if needed. It gets great highway mileage for those over the road trips. The handling is great as well."

Anonymous, IA (2018 Dodge Durango)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Excellent comfort, driving experience is 2nd to none. Very quiet excellent ride refined transmission . Power delivery is instant and linear and on point, you can hardly hear the engine yet when you need more power the engine has a nice refined growl to it. Road noise is kept at bay and the driving position is perfect commanding an excellent view of the road. This vehicle is definitely a road trip SUV it gobbles up the miles without breaking a sweat."

William H., FL (2018 Dodge Durango)

"Seats are uncomfortable during long drives."

John M., ON (2018 Dodge Durango)

"They are wide, deep, well-padded, adjustable and enveloping"

Anonymous, MN (2018 Dodge Durango)

"Seat could be more comfortable and the wind noise a bit less."

Anonymous, FL (2018 Dodge Durango)

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"Ordered from the factory through the Costco car buying service. I felt I got a very good price."

D H., CA (2018 Dodge Durango)

"Chose the sit Adele package because of all of the included extra features, however, I feel like I did not get the full value relative to the price paid for the new vehicle. For example, the leather seats are wearing much quicker than I would’ve expected for “high quality“ leather. There is also still an excessive amount of plastic on the interior and exterior which leaves me with a slightly cheap feel."

Cameron S., WA (2018 Dodge Durango)
