This iteration of the Dodge Grand Caravan is better than the model it replaced. Despite some notable new features, though, it hadn't risen to the level needed to compete against better rivals. Safety features include standard stability control and curtain airbags. A blind-spot detection system is also available as an option. It’s a good find if you can locate one equipped with the feature.

    Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

    What Owners Say

"great for acceleration and handles well."

Joseph L., OH (2009 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"Acceleration is adequate while handling is better than expected for such a late tall vehicle. It handles and rides very much like a large sedan while giving ahigher view."

    G R., NC (2009 Dodge Grand Caravan)

    "very quick"

Joe S., NC (2009 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"This vehicle accelerates easily and is great for towing. love using this for large group travel as well"

Anonymous, OH (2009 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"It handles getting into freeway traffic with no sagging to get up to speed and I can put this van into some really tight spots as it handles with ease for me."

Carol C., CA (2009 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"I AM REALLY SUPRISED AT THE EXCELLENT FUEL MILEAGE. ON ROAD TRIPS I HAVE MADE AS GOOD AS 29 MPG."

Anonymous, OK (2009 Dodge Grand Caravan)

    Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

    What Owners Say

"The front seats are quite comfortable, other seats not so much. The large amount of interior space is very useful"

Anonymous, MI (2009 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"Had caravans in the past, got this one from our son, love all the extra room, especially the stow and go seats. Had others in the past but without the stow and go seats. The other minivans and vans which didn't have the stow and go seats my husband removed the seats to lug stuff around. However we didn't have room to store them so they took up a lot of room in our shed or under our backyard awning. The mini vans were great for lugging kids and all their stuff back and forth to college. Use them as furniture movers, when we passed our children's old furniture down to their kids etc. they are just so versatile."

Joanne F., NY (2009 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"Love my Caravan, but as it ages the noise level inside cabin is getting bad... and I wish I had waited to get all the new features of Bluetooth, GPS. ect. Love that both sides have auto sliding doors but wish they also had roll down windows. But I will keep this one most likely till it dies....."

Carol C., CA (2009 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"I absolutely love the Stow'N'Go seats. The van easily doubles as my truck."

Steven K., CO (2009 Dodge Grand Caravan)
