What Owners Say
"Air cond wouldn't work"
Otis G., AL (2009 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7-L V8)"Well documented issue with FCA and failure of dampers in system failing and air then not directed to appropriate locations, defrost vs AC vents vs floor vents. Had this same problem with 2006 Dodge Ram and currently this third time on this truck these P.O.S. OEM parts have failed. It heats and cools, but air isn't directed to the right places."
Anonymous, SC (2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 5.7-L V8)"Single zone HVAC control module has issues causing blend doors to not work or work improperly. Must be a common problem because parts are unavailable from dealers or backordered months. Problem not resolved but I have done a temporary fix by removing a blend door actuator and securing the door in a partially open position. Seems to be a common problem with this vehicle."
Anonymous, VA (2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Unsure 4.7-L V8)"The auto climate system blend doors or blend door motors broke and require the dash to be removed out of the truck so you can remove the whole a/c and heat unit to removed out the truck to be repaired."
J A., LA (2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 5.7-L V8)"Climate control System has been replaced several years ago. Medium fan speed on current system is nonfunctional."
Anonymous, MI (2009 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 5.7-L V8)"Intermittent operation. Replaced"
Anonymous, NV (2009 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 4.7-L V8)"There is a known problem with the plastic components of the air recirc mechanism - my truck just didn't make the recall list of VINs. The plastic door controller is easily broken and the defrost will not work correctly since the system can't switch from recirc to fresh air"
Danny B., VA (2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport 5.7-L V8)"fan diversion door broke"
Kinlaw G., FL (2009 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 5.7-L V8)"Accuator"
David D., AL (2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 5.7-L V8)"After approximately 10 months the new compressor had to be replace. Luckily it was still under warranty."
Anonymous, AZ (2009 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 5.7-L V8)"It loss the freon on two occasions"
Gary A., AL (2009 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 4.7-L V8)"Quit cooling. Replaced 3 items"
Robert T., KS (2009 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 5.7-L V8)"The drivers seat is cracking and torn."
Anonymous, CA (2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport 5.7-L V8)"The air door mechanism broke - the switch from recirc to fresh air - a known issue. I've replaced all three actuators - the way this system is engineered is simply bad - the actuators are constantly working; every time you switch the truck on, all the actuators are moving things around (with making any adjustments to the HVAC controls) - it wears out the parts for no good reason"
Danny B., VA (2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport 5.7-L V8)"The blend actuator went out, this is the second time this has happened and I've yet to get it fixed because you have to take the entire dash out to fix it. Dealer wants $1500+ for the repair even though their was a recall on the unit. There are 5 of these actuators in different spots within the cooling system and they have plastic gears which strip out which is why they had the recall."
Justin H., UT (2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport 5.7-L V8)"Heater core had a leak."
Robert M., FL (2009 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 4.7-L V8)"had a bad compressor that the front seal went bad. Replaced compressor and recharged the system"
Anonymous, AZ (2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport 5.7-L V8)
"The A/C compressor quit working, and it cost me over $1600.00 to replace it along with additional parts."
