Talking Cars 470: 2025 New York Auto Show Highlights

Podcast filmed in NYC covers the latest new cars, including Hyundai Palisade, Kia EV4, Subaru Outback, and Subaru Trailseeker

Main theme: The podcast panel filmed this episode on the floor at the 2025 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). This year marks the 125th anniversary of the show, which originated at a time when owning a car was not a given for most families. Today’s show featured vehicles ranging from 1900s classics to the latest technology-laden vehicle debuts.

The panel weighs in on the newly unveiled models and their potential success, including three launches from Subaru with the 2026 Outback and Solterra, and the new Trailseeker SUV, as well as the new Subaru Forester Hybrid.

Kia literally lifted the veil on the new EV4, which promises electric vehicle capability at a non-luxury price, as well as the new K4 hatchback

The newly redesigned Ford Expedition and Hyundai Palisade confirmed that three-row SUVs are still popular options, and the newly updated Honda Passport showed SUV versatility in a midsized package. Unlike past years, when the show seemed to have an underlying theme, this year’s show was truly a smattering of everything, and the team shares what caught their eyes and their hearts.

Learn more about new cars on the horizon, including models displayed at the New York International Auto Show.
