CR's Take
Big rear-wheel-drive sedans with a full frame and a V8 are a dying breed. The Crown Victoria/Mercury Grand Marquis twins are among the last. Despite being a bit dated, they're still competitive. Both ride quietly and comfortably. Handling isn't bad for cars this big, though the steering feels too light. Traction control effectively keeps the car on course on slippery roads, and braking is good. The soft front bench seat could use more support. Considering the vast dimensions of these sedans, the rear seat isn't as roomy as you'd expect. But at least the trunk is suitably cavernous.
